Tsubomi (ツボミ Tsubomi? ) is a minor character in the Shuffle! series. She is Kareha's younger sister. She appears in the anime adaption of Shuffle!, in the 22nd and 24th episodes; and as an secondary character in Really? Really!.
However, she is a winnable heroine in Shuffle! Essence+.
Personality
Tsubomi is the younger sister of Kareha by three years. Her catchphrase is "Kya! Kya! Kya!" when she fangirls about something romantic or cute, while her sister's is "My! My! My!". Unlike her gentle sister, she has a lively and active personality.
According to Kareha, she used to be a crybaby.
Background
Two year prior to the events of Shuffle! Essence+, Rin unknowingly helped Tsubomi when she was lost at the train station and she developed a crush on him, wishing to know his identity. After learning Rin's name, she begins stalking him, usually wearing sunglasses and a mask. Although, Rin quickly realizes he's being followed.
She addresses Rin as "Rin Oni-san", big brother respectfully. Her hobby is writing romance fiction that involve her delusions of cute things. She is a secret member of Rin's fanclub, Tsuchimi Lovers, along with her sister.
Tsubomi also graduates junior high school during her route, becoming a 1st year at Verbena Academy.

- Rin: Her love interest during her route. She has the tendency to stalk Rin in order to get close to him.
Etymology
- The name Tsubomi is written in katakana (ツボミ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (蕾, 蕾美 or 蕾実), it could possibly mean:
- 蕾 - "bud, flower bud".
- 蕾美 - "bud, flower bud" (蕾) (tsubo) and "beautiful" (美) (mi).
- 蕾実 - "bud, flower bud" (蕾) (tsubo) and "fruit, good result, truth" (実) (mi).
Trivia
- Besides her own route, Tsubomi only appears in her sister's route.
- Since Tsubomi enters high school during her route, it makes her the youngest heroine in the series.
- Tsubomi is the second heroine to have blonde hair, the first being her own sister.
- Although Tsubomi appears in the anime, her name is never said nor is she introduced as an character.
