Sakura Yae (八重 桜, Yae Sakura^? ) is a side character in the Shuffle! series. She is one of the main characters in Really? Really! and she also appears in Shuffle! Essence+.

She is the childhood friend of Rin Tsuchimi and Kaede Fuyou who attended the same middle school as them until their middle school graduation where she left to attend an all-girls high school called Strelitzia Academy.

Personality

Sakura is revealed to be a candid and highly perceptive person. She can easily understand the atmosphere and situation. She is honest with herself and others, that she will face her feeling head on and give a firm answer. It is said that she is somewhat unfriendly to people she is not familiar with, while completely friendly to people such as her childhood friends, Kaede and Rin.

Sometimes she can be too focus on what she loves and temporarily forgets the environment she is in resulting in funny and embarrassing situations.

During the elementary school time, she starts learning about cooking and inspired Kaede to do the same. Somewhere during this time, she fall in love with Rin.

It is notable that while she is perceptive, she remained unknown to the truth of what is truly happened between Kaede and Rin in middle school when Kaede hated Rin because of the accident, and was often caught in the cross fire of their tension. Even so, she remained trusting towards Rin and his decision. It is only after the suffering between Kaede and Rin ends, she learns the whole story.

Towards the end of middle school (Sunshine Academy), she confesses her romantic feelings to Rin, but he remains undecided and denies her. However, Sakura understood that he couldn't accept her feelings at the time and resolves to go study in Strelitzia, pursuing her passion for stuffed animals.

During their graduation at Sunshine Academy, she asks if Rin can lend her his name, and Rin agrees. When they met again she makes a black cat plushie and named it "Rin." This shows that she still loves Rin even after they went their separated ways.
